I know that there is alot of people using facebook at there. One thing i wonder is how do atract people for business related thing instead of just for personal gossip?

It's advertising space.
Your friends can share it with their friends and othercompanies will eventually network with you

It really depends on your business. I am a photographer and I can attract new clients because FaceBook allows me to put photos up for free and friends of friends can see my work. If I desire, I can also use FaceBook Ads for advertising to specific demographics.
Has this generated any business for me? Not yet, but its free, so why not use it.
Google Places has actually gotten me more calls than anything else.
