Should i keep this computer? - Mike - 02-26-2013 11:09 AM Okay so almost a month ago i purchased a new laptop from best buy. Its a Samsung series 5 14 inch with 8gb ram 3rd gen i5 running on windows 8 64bit 750gb hd for $730 after taxes. It runs nice most of the time but a few things are concerning me first off it cant restart. Whenever i hit restart it just stays at the restart screen so i have to end up powering it off and then back on and then its all good but still weird right?. the next concern i have is it keeps saying my anti virus programs are not on and to turn them on but when i click to turn them on it still says there off but when i open up the program they are apparently running and have been the whole time again weird. the next thing that concerns me is very often when i go to a website it half loads kind of like imagine facebook but every things kind of just listed and there's not much detail on the page its really weird but once i refresh its all good. And then today I'm trying to install a trial for Microsoft office it downloads but wont install so i restarted my computer and as expected it doesn't restart lol. So i turned it off and on and then were all good again and it works. So bottom line is do any of you know why these things are happening? should i be concerned with them? i can still return this computer and get a full refund and if i do do any of you know any other computers with these specs for the price i got this one for or better? thank you in advance - Jared - 02-26-2013 11:10 AM This is why i refuse to buy a Windows 8 computer. If its not working out for you I'd suggest that you return it. - dpcjr14 - 02-26-2013 11:18 AM It has nothing to do with windows 8! I bought a Toshiba windows 8 like 4 weeks ago and it's perfect.. you should still have a valid warranty so just send it back to the store, or u can call Samsung and see how much it would cost for them to fix it - xnÉɟʞɹÉp - 02-26-2013 11:24 AM sounds like a hard drive issue. try running chkdsk c: /r you will need to restart, so shut down then fire it back up. once it scans, it will fix any errors, and things should go back to "normal". i really don't like Win8, but don't think that is what caused the problem (this time). - Tyren - 02-26-2013 11:26 AM Try restoring the computer to its factory settings(create a backup first,if u wanna) - Jese - 02-26-2013 11:29 AM Just install windows again. Its a very nice computer. If the problems are still there, Try to fix it or buy another computer. - ARTHURZ1 - 02-26-2013 11:31 AM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh9pYldYhAo |
