We see a lot of ' apps' in Chrome web store and Facebook. How do people develop it? Which software's are being used to make those apps? Is there any link providing details about 'app' making?
I just like to design apps and market it in the Chrome store. Which softwares/ programming languages i should study for that particular purpose?

You use a text editor and some Javascript knowledge to make the web apps. It could be anything from Notepad to Dreamweaver to Aptana to Vim, it doesn't really matter as long as it can output HTML and Javascript files.
