I am only going to use it for school, facebook, nothing extreme.
Just simple, daily things.

What kind of anti virus protection do you suggest? i have norton for my desktop, can i use the same one for my laptop? or do i have to buy a new anti virus protection program?

You could use Norton on your laptop, but you might need to buy another license. I would suggest Avira AntiVir Personal. It's freeware, download it from the Internet, and Consumer Reports rated it the best of the freebies in stopping Internet viruses. You have to update the database manually (double-click on the taskbar tray icon), but that's the only annoyance. You should check for updates once a week. I use this program myself.

AVG is very good and is available FREE online at http://www.avg.com/ca-en/homepage

I've had no problems running this on my Laptop. Great free program.
