U cant turn off the comments other ppl post on ur friend's status, but if it was ur status, u could delete them 1 by 1

you cant turn off the comments. You can turn off the notification of comments by click "unfollow the post" under that post

just below that post You will see a button called Unfollow post, Select that
Or
When You recieve a notification . Hover over the notification and click on the X symbol at the top right corner and select turn off
