Unfortunately HTC explorer has very limited phone memory. Even if you are able to install these apps successfully, your phone will run out of memory very soon because of the temporary files and logs created by these apps.
I would advice you not to use the Facebook app on the explorer, or if you absolutely need to, make sure you keep clearing the cache and temporary data. Since the explorer does not have a front camera there's no point in installing Skype!
Just for the record, all these apps can be successfully installed on the phone. But the performance would deteriorate.
