like when random people search me on Facebook, i don't want them to be able to see my profile pictures :/

You can choose your own settings including for each photo. It doesn't have to be for ALL your profile picts, unless u want them too.. Just view your profile picture to the full size, on the top right, you'll see this 'world' looking logo. Press that and it will give you options. You can choose only friends to see or only you to see The world ofcoarse means public
