I used to be on facebook all the time, but i rarely log in to my account now. I just feel that I can do sth more productive or sth, and also it somehow give me stress. However, a part of me feel like I am missing out on what everyone I know are talking about on there.

In my opinion, social media is neither good or bad for everyone. It is good for some, bad for some, and of no consequence for some. It is good for sociopaths because they can reach far more victims more efficiently.
