My parent is my friend on facebook, but there are some posts I would not like them to see? - Danielle - 02-28-2013 10:07 AM

My dad has 19 friends on facebook, and I don't want to delete him because I definitely think that social media is good for him. He's finding friends that he hasn't spoke to in decades, and I'm helping him learn how. However, I party sometimes and my friends post pictures and statuses about it. Nothing exceptionally bad or illegal, just things I wouldn't like him to see. Is there a way to keep just him from seeing these posts?

You can block your statuses from certain people if you would like. Just post a status like you normally would, but right before you post, click on the bottom right and typer the names of who you would like to block the status from. Howevere, you can not block pictures.(:

For posts, click the little button with the picture of a lock (on the top right side of where you type wall posts). It has a drop-down feature which says something like "limit audience". Then click that you don't want your dad to see it.

There are three ways are there, first one is add your dad in restricted list after that he will not see your posts whatever it maybe like your status update, your new photo or video and etc., except if it is public post, second one is add your dad in the family list or anyother list( except restricted ) then if you want to hide something means then while posting select option before post button then select custom and in the "Hide this from" option type that list name where you added your dad and select save changes then he will not see your post and if you want to hide your older post means then goto your profile and move your mouse cursor to the right side of the post then click "v" then select custom and in the "Hide this from" option type that list name. Third one is like the second one don't type that list name just type your dad's name that's it. Have a nice day :-)
