Both the EU and Sweden are very prosperous and have high standards of living compared to America.
Should we raise taxes on the rich to 50%? Provide Free College Education? Welfare for all if necessary? Strong Unions?

No, they are not. I have a friend who lives in Sweden and when I told him our media portrays Sweden as having the best economy in the world, he laughed. Sweden has tons of problems, some of which is a new wave of Latin American immigrants.

Nothing would ever get done anywhere in the country and the wealthy would move their money offshore.
If you haven't noticed the EU isn't doing too well right now.
