How do I know I don't have the computer virus anymore? - Mk - 02-28-2013 11:55 AM
I got the Facebook-spread virus whilst trying to download an update for Adobe Flash Player. I have run several full-system scans and I believe I don't have the virus anymore, but how can I know this for sure?
I have Norton Anti-Virus, and also Spybot Search & Destroy.
What does Mayank mean with reformatting the computer?
How do you reformat it?

Not much else you can do. Could download AVG install and scan. That will give you a little more confidence if no problem found.

Well your Norton Anti-Virus, and also Spybot Search & Destroy should have let you know if the virus is still on your computer other wise the Anti-Virus would have recognized the virus and you would have known it was still there.Well make sure your computer is running how its supposed to be, no pop ups, or any time of rare material that was not known of before. If pop ups or any other type of material is found then the virus might still be running on your computer. If that's so then you should check try scanning it again. Hope this helps.

Make sure you Norton is updated and scan again to be sure set it to scan everyday for a while. Be careful of "free" downloads.

Try going on Facebook and use some Adobe Programs keep it open and run a Norton Anti - Virus Scan if it says no Virus Detected the virus is gone.
If you are Still Not sure Try Reformating the computer.
Its Easy and Fast + The computer will be a heck a lot fast
