I sent a friend request on Facebook and it only appeared on the person's email account not in their notifications on Facebook. What could be wrong?

it may be due to high security changes u hav made or contact to fb by mailing them

You or they have made security settings that mean you can't send requests. Some people do this, especially famous people.
