I saw this on twitter amd went to their site but I didn't understand it. Is it like a Facebook for gays, gyc or something like that?

GALEAD LGTBI is going to be a giant social networking site for lesbian, gay, transgendered, bisexual, and intersex individuals. I guess it could be a FB, but it seems more centered around LGTBI events and happenings. It seems to be more like place to find organizations and groups. I guess you will just have to wait until they unveil it in a month.

ABOUT GALEAD
Galead is a community network to be launched in January 2013 and dedicated to all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex people worldwide. Its mission is to help federate the LGBTI community across the world by providing its members and their friends with the means to connect and share with each others.
Galead is privately owned and operated by active members of the LGBTI community,
a group of friends who joined their respective visions, diversified ideas, complementary competencies and of course time and money with the ambition to create the largest LGBTI network in the world.
The project required 2 years of development and a team of 12 people to build a unique tool adapted to the specific needs of the different LGBTI community players, future developments are already planned to bring constant innovation to our future users.
Galead is submitted to the French Data Protection Act strictly securing confidentiality,
one of the funding values of the network together with:
- Free services for individual users and non-profit organizations
- No banner or push advertising
- No use or sharing of personal data
