How do I get out of this embarrassing Facebook issue? - holla - 02-28-2013 02:43 PM

My sister is extremely trashy, to put it simply. I've had to deal with her in more troubling ways, but now it's wreaking havoc online. We have an uncommon last name, so people searching for me can stumble upon her quite easily. She makes Facebook posts about her issues in the legal system (making bail, etc.). Her pictures are racy. Her comments and replies to people on her page are quite illiterate sounding.

I could brush it off as a distant relative I've never met, but her page states she originates from my hometown and there are pictures of me in her profile pictures noting me as her sister.

In high school, when people looked her up, they usually had no tact about it and asked why my sister "is so weird." I'm really scared of this causing issues in my professional life.

I guess my question is, how do I respond when people ask me about this?

Thanks.
Tara: The problem isn't that I'm tagged, it's that we have the same last name and that my face exists in pictures of her.

Get off of facebook, delete your profile and create another, or change your FB name.

Just try and distance yourself as much as possible from her. People might not judge you based on your relationship with your classless sister if you have high standards and are classy. You are not guilty by association. I feel for you. Good luck.
