I've been noticing how more and more items I purchase at grocery stores have a little Facebook logo and say "Find us on Facebook," advertising their Facebook page. Does it cost companies extra to include that? Is the Facebook logo copyrighted?

No, the facebook logo is available free of charge.

Do you know the brand Oregon Chia Tea? I just noticed on their packaging last night how they used the facebook and twitter logos and thought is was adorable.
