Why so many lemmings today who can't think for themselves? - super g - 02-28-2013 03:02 PM

Does social media play a part?

- Sadcat - 02-28-2013 03:06 PM

If you think that, then what are you doing here?

Yes, for those who watch 24/7 cable news entertainment networks , read blogs and think youtube is real.

Unless you mean by letting all the idiots congregate together and stay idiots, then I disagree.

Low information voters either don't know they are low information voters or they don't care.

What's the risk of being a lemming if we aren't going anywhere because our "leaders" are too busy arguing over who is to blame for the fact that we aren't going anywhere?

I think it's TV.

If you look at the writings of people before TV vs. after, it's clear folks spent a lot more time living life and thinking than they do now. They interacted and entertained each others. They had hobbies and learned skills. They read.

Now, all too many people come home, put on the TV and watch sitcoms and reality shows like the Kardashians for 4 hours a day.

The first step to proving you aren't a lemming, is considering that perhaps all those that disagree with your own position have a perfectly rational reason for doing so, and therefore, aren't lemmings at all.

Disagreement does not a lemming make.
