Facebook was going fine on my ipod until I went to the app store and updated it. Now every time I click on it, it stays for a few seconds frozen and then goes back to my home screen. I've deleted it and reinstalled it many times and also rebooted my iPod, but it just keeps doing the same thing. Now i have no way of getting on Facebook.

That happened to me a lot with my 4th gen iPod Touch. I just went onto Safari and typed in Facebook and went on like that. On the iPod Touch 5th gen, the app works.
