I like to message my friends on Facebook alot, but I don't want to appear online, because some people might be mad at me for not messaging them. Does anyone know if there's a way, or an app to message Facebook friends, but appear offline? Thanks!

Just be online for few seconds and start the chat with your friend with whom you want chat and then be offline. So this way you can continue your chat even if you are offline.
Alternatively, you can go to your message and start messaging your friend it works same as chat (instant messenger).

yes on the chat bar click the gear button then it will have an option saying turn of chat and click it
