Privatizing doesn't do anything but give profits to the Insurance company and I too have not heard a Con answer the question of how it helps extend it? By using a middleman it just means that they get a profit, not a penny is saved for Seniors with the Ryan plan and the average Senior would need to pay 6500 a yr more. Does that sound like a plan you want for your mother or grandmother?

The idea if someone is wealthy they must not care about people living in poverty is silly. And, the idea that if someone is Republican they must be rich. However, if that is the case, I'd rather follow the doctrine of the people who were making money than those who are pissing it away.

It has been proposed because it a distraction. This is called Government By Symbolism. You put forth a plan or a panel to study the problem already knowing that nothing will be done. This way the peoPle think that something is being done, when in fact nothing meaningful is happening.
