Few months ago i was able to search my chat history, inbox messages upto the day i created fb account, none of the facebook inbox messages were deleted automatically . But now i cant even find conversation which are just a year old.

even i had faced same problem ! its been said that facebook is under construction for a while because of the over population and fake accounts created in a mass

may be server problem or may be the person have deleted all messages accidentally/intentionally whom you have gave your password ....

Now Facebook message message layout is changed and you have to scroll down to search old messages. And you can enter friend's name in search field and search it
