in our old messages, his name is in black and his profile picture is gone. on my pictures where he has commented on in the past, his comment is no longer there and i cant find him as a mutual friend with people i knew we were both friends with. my number of friends on facebook has remained the same too. when i search for him, it says "the page you requested was not found".
yes its an ex boyfriend but we ended on good terms and there is no reason that i know of why he would block me.

Those are certain signs of blocking. If you can't see it, you have been blocked. The best case senario is that he did quit facebook.

even if you ended on good terms, he probably doesn't want you seeing his daily life. I know I wouldn't want an ex knowing a thing about me once we split, even if we were still good friends

if his name shows up in past messages, that means you are not blocked - if you were blocked, it would just say "facebook user" instead of his name
so if his name shows up, he either chose to deactivate his account, or facebook caught him breaking rules, like lying about his age or name, or creating more than one account
