How does Facebook calculate the Lover of the Day thing? - Hazel - 03-01-2013 05:49 AM

or for any of the other similar apps? is it based on who you communicate a lot with through fb or is it just random?

some base it on who you communicate with and how often.

others are just totally random

being a facebook developer I'd say most of them are just totally random. Unless the app requests special permissions to access your wall data it's pretty safe to assume it's just random. And for those who do request those privileges it's obviously based of that data. Note when I say acces wall I do not mean when an app asks you to post to a wall

The Lover Of The Day Application is completely random. It goes through your list of friends and just picks one.

Its totally random.

Some of my friends used to have that application installed and enabled on their Facebook and it would throw in random people that they hardly talk to or talked to just ONCE on Facebook. It's not accurate at all, it's more of a random thing.
