twitter is basically a site where you put up what you are up to, and others can 'follow' you by logging into the site. Instead of traditional email method.

A soon-to-be myspace clone.

Sad.

I used to use it for updates on my game designs and such.

you basically so where you are at and what you're doing.
you can "follow" people and see what they're up to.

it's kind of like a stalker program, if you ask me.

It's a site where you can create your own profile and make comments that everyone can read. I have a twitter. Something kind of like blogging, only shorter.

If you have myspace or facebook, it's like that box where it asks what you're doing right now. You can also 'follow' other people like friends, families, or celebs. It's actually really fun and doesn't make your computer go slow like other sites do. Plus you can send messages to other people who are 'following' you or who you are 'following'.

Hope that helps!

Twitter is a free social messaging utility for staying connected in real-time. Twitter has received extensive visibility and popularity worldwide. Twitter is often described as the "SMS of Internet", in that the site provides the back-end functionality (via its APIs) to other desktop and web-based applications to send and receive short text messages, often obscuring the actual website itself.
