My friend's online clothing business doesn't generate much income? - Lorena Antivola - 03-02-2013 12:41 AM

How come despite having users and fans, my friend's online clothing business doesn't generate much income? I thought using social media can help increase sales? Is there any reason for this?

Yes social media definitely work wonder for this. Try adding your website link and social media sites so that people will know more about your products.

Using social media for an online shop is not good enough. That's because the visits you get from social media are generally passive visitors (they don't have intentions in buying the product). You need to have a comprehensive plan in selling products online. Read more at http://www.izzonet.com/streetwise-ecommerce/how-to-sell-products-online

I beg to differ with what Fiona says. Online clothing business needs promotion primarily through social media. That is the very first option and the other traditional methods take the secondary place.

Coming to the question, have you SEO-ed your site? Since, you say you got users and fans in plenty. There should be problems with your website's visual impact. Page loading speed, categories arranged in a user friendly way, page redirects and so many humpty number of stuffs involved. I recommend you to try SEO your site.
