Okay owner of a dell latitude laptop d600 , flip the laptop over there is a press to test battery led at the bottom of the battery, press it does all led light s light up then it's fully charged , next step if not take the battery out and put it back in might not be making a good connection, start up the laptop press f2 to the bios screen use alt +p to the battery diagram does it show any charge at all might have to wait 2 hours to see if any change in the percentage charge, if no change then the battery is completly dead give it 8-12 hours to charge check back after that time to see if it's fully charged if still not replace the battery http://www.partspeople.com , sometime using a pencil eraser to clean the battery internal contacts work as well to make a good connection for charging

If the batteries are not installed battery, batteries and computer system may not be compatible with, you can change a battery http://www.laptopbattery-adapter.com ,now the battery it used was originally an xp was upgraded to 7 ultimate , New batteries should be charged for 12 hours or more in a row, to activate battery power inside, thank you!

I had a similar issue with a D630 - take the battery out, unplug it, and press & hold the power button to reset the RAM.

Put the battery back in carefully - "feel" and "listen" for the click as it slides into place properly.

Plug it back in.

Check - if you get in a hurry putting the battery in, it can only click into place on one side - which doesn't work very well.
