I'm working my first social media freelance job. How much should I charge? - BMJME - 10-12-2012 08:13 AM

I want to be reasonable because it is for a non-profit organization for early autism testing a research, but I am completely clueless on what to charge. Please help!
I would be both creating and maintaining reference sites via facebook/myspace/twitter and maintaining a blog for an autism specialist that has created the non-profit for autism research and information for early testing.
They are requesting an hourly rate, I would be working on this approx 6-8 hrs a week.

Is this a writing job? If so I would say $5-10 a post.

Hi,

I recommend that you have a look at my website. This is the answer that I give to similar queries. My website has links where you can compare rates.

The best solution is to look at the skills that you have from your career and start your own business because it places you in control. The difficulty is in identifying what are legitimate work at home jobs and what is a fair and reasonable return for your time. In starting to look at this issue it is important to realize that there are many others that have gone down this path and you can take advantage from their experience here :http://www.wahm.com/forum/. You can also take advantage of some research that I have done at http://www.freelance-work-guide.com/index.html. I would appreciate any comments that you leave.
