How can I make my sub sound better? - Jeremy - 03-26-2013 11:34 AM

I have a 94 geo prizm with stock cassette player and 4 really good twitters. My friend wired in a DUAL brand 12 inch subwoofer to the head unit and it sounds really good but I want it to sound better. Some people say to put the sub in a box but I have it stuck to the roof in the back seat by the magnet on the sub. Also my friend has a 4500watt amp he said he could hook up to it to make it sound better but idk if it would help cuz it already sounds really good. Would running a wire from my battery to the sub give it MORE POWER! Or do I need something for that? What should I do?

I have no idea what the hell is going on here. it sounded like you said you have the speaker stuck to your roof by the motor of the driver? and also there is no dual sub in the world that will take 4500 watts. you would need at the very minimum 100 of those 12's in order to use that amp.

we're going to need to see pictures of this to verify the degree of expertise involved with that installation.

Omg. Rofl

So ur basically using that sub as a big speaker by running it off the H.U. like that. What should u do is get a box and an amp to power it to its rms value.

LOL. get a box. if you thought it sounded good without the box, you'll be blown away with one.
