Does photo sharing out of wifi cost money? - Abbie Taskis - 03-26-2013 01:19 PM

Hi,i have an android phone and i have the instagram and facebook apps. When i go out of wifi, will it cost money to go on instagram and take a picture or if i take a normal picture and press share to facebook?

Depending on your Phone Service Provider, (your data plan) yes, it could charge you an arm and a leg. But if you have data, or unlimited data in your phone plan, rates will go by that.

Hope that helps!

If I understand correctly...

When you leave your wifi network which you use to connect to the internet, your phone will use your phone network, be it CDMA or 3G or whatever. To be clear, plans for data cost money and that is what this is. This becomes an issue of your mobile data provider's plan. If you have a data plan (or agreed to charges when you signed up) then you will be charged for the amount of data you upload on the phone network.

Since you're using wifi any internet activities should be free unless your mobile company are thieves and charge for everything.
