I have a Facebook message question. If there's a red number 1 and I click on the messages letters, will the red number 1 still be there? Thanks

No, the red number one should go away after you read the message. Sometimes it will come back when it's not supposed to though.

Look at older messages, there may be some unread message. Look at 'others' folder.

the red "1" only shows that to you until you click on it
the red "1" means there is something new you havent seen yet
