How much does it cost to send a text with Orange? - Betty - 04-15-2013 09:25 AM

For an Orange Pay as you go monkey SIM, how much does it cost to send a text from the UK to the UK?

around 10 or 12 pence i would think, just go to the orange website and it will tell you.

I believe it would be included in your free allowance , if your allowance has expired it costs 12p per text.

You can 25 texts on the tariff, once you have gone over this allowance it costs 10p per message. However, for just £5 you can get unlimited texts.

unlimited free texts for a fiver

To get unlimited texts, just text TEXTS 5 to 6620. £5 will be deducted from your credit in return for unlimited UK texts for the month. Alternatively call the automated IVR on 453, Orange customers service on 450, visit Your Account or go to Orange World on your handset.

£5 will be deducted from your credit. You will receive a text when your bundle is about to expire.

How much does Monkey cost?

Monkey's free to join (like all our animal packages). Then as long as you top-up by £5 or more a month, you get free music online and 600 minutes of free music on your mobile, along with loads of free texts every month. You also get our simple flat rate of 20p a minute for calls and 10p for texts to any network, anytime.

When you call 247 to listen to your music, you can also press 5 to get a free text message with the track name and artist of the song you're listening to. And you can share your playlists with friends by sending them a free text from the Monkey website.

Paying to listen to music

If you're on Monkey but you've not topped-up by £5 in a month, or you've used up all your free minutes (which would be quite a feat), you can still call 247 to listen to music but it will cost 5p a minute (or 10p a minute if you're in your Reserve Tank).

Hi Betty

Depending on how much you top up your phone each month, you would receive some texts free of charge. Outside of these free texts, you would be charged 12p per message for any texts sent to other UK mobiles.

I hope this helps!
