I just got a blackberry Curve 3G, and I installed a few apps, including the Facebook chat app. Later, I decided that I don't really like the layout or format or sounds that it makes, so I uninstalled it. But now, whenever I'm chatting with someone on Facebook on my computer, my phone also makes a noise saying that I have a new message. How I can completely remove this app from my phone?

After removing an app you still have to reboot the device for the to complete the removal.
Take out the battery and leave it out for 10 seconds then put it back in. This will complete a hard reset.
