I want to deactivate my account because it's annoying me. However, I have applications such as Pinterest and Words with Friends that I still want to use that are connected to my facebook account. If I deactivate, will it also cause problems with my those apps that I use on my iPhone?

If you deactivate or delete your account then yes.

nope , it wouldn't work any more , sadly , but and alternative is it to use myspace . do you have a myspace account?? im pretty sure those to apps work on myspace

Yes. Your achievements on those apps are registered using your Facebook account. Without the login, you won't be able to use them on your iPhone.
If you don't wanna use FB but don't want to lose your achievements on those apps, just don't login to Facebook anymore. Delete all info if you want. Or if you don'y mind losing your progress, use a different Facebook account.
