scan your computer.

You scan with your anti-virus software and quarantine what it finds.

Don't have anti-virus software? (shame on you)...

For noobs and computer illiterate types, I would suggest Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE):
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security_essentials/default.aspx

MSE is easy to use, decent protection. Free for home use or up to 10 business PC's.

For the more advanced computer user and the computer geek that likes to tweek his own settings, I would suggest avast! Free Antivirus:
http://www.avast.com/index

avast! Free Antivirus has a bit better protection, and is extremely configurable. Home use only.

Instead of downloading this or downloading that...the easiest way to check and see if you have a virus...is open task mgr...click on the bottom task bar...then right click and select task mgr....then when task mgr appears...click on running processes....and you'll see everything that is running ...if there are program using a high amount of CPU while at idle....check the process and see if its legit or not here.....
