You should get followers on twitter by just being yourself and to act like yourself through your posts. Twitter is not about how many followers you have, you get followers by gradually getting recognised through the community and gaining followers that way.
Unfortunatley though most people would follow you if you promised to follow them back
If you want to advertise on your twitter that you follow back, put the tag #TeamFollowBack in your description and on the end of some of your tweets, that will gain you more followers.
