Sorry, more details would certainly help; however, a few key points
1) Have a good cause that other like-minded people would support. Use social media like Facebook or Twitter to see if there is any interest from those you know. They are usually the best support, but don't guilt trip them.
2) Keep accurate records so you can prove that you are reliable and using the money for the stated/correct usage.
