How do I change my name on Facebook? - hoplessly in love - 04-28-2013 01:26 PM
My mom is getting a facebook soon and I want to change my name cuz' I don't want her to be friends with me and I'm not allowed to have a facebook and if she finds out I have a fb she will force me to be friends withe her so help me to change my name. Please & Thank-you!

You can actually set your privacy to paranoid, and people won't even be able to search for you. Go to the privacy settings and you'll see the different levels of privacy and the one at the top of the list is paranoid.

go to your fb homepage, then on top, there are these things that says home, profile etc.etc. click on settings. and then you should be on the my account page, and on the first text you see there is your name. there should be a button that says "change" next to that part.

The privacy settings might be of interest to you... but if you really want to change your name, mouseover the "settings" in the upper right corner of the home page and click "account settings." Then click "change" next to the place where it lists your name.

To change your Profile Name:
Go to 'Settings', then click the 'Change' link the right of 'Name', and type the new name you want. Once you're done and okay it, it'll take a little while (not long) for Facebook to verify that it's you making the change and for the change to take effect (about a day or so at most).
