I was wanting to buy this netbook for my mom for Christmas, and was wondering if it was good just for checking facebook, and playing some facebook games?

Yes that computer would be fine for checking facebook and playing facebook games. The computer is a fairly cheap model but for doing things like surfing the internet, word processing, and playing internet games, that's all you need.
