Is being on Facebook the right choice for me? - Caleb - 05-01-2013 06:01 AM I'm 15 years old. I obviously have friends who I would like to keep in touch with. However there are a few things that I have had a problem with. First off, I'm concerned that since I am in my last year of secondary school, Facebook could be a real distraction for me. In my last few experiences with Facebook I have found that I stay on it for much longer than expected. Finally I have a concern with the nature of Facebook. Some of my friends do sometimes play jokes on me from time to time. Would Facebook magnify this and cause problems as I think it could? Thanks for your answers - sunshine111 - 05-01-2013 06:06 AM I think it would take up too much time and you will end up on it way too much also you will get pranked.. i think dont get on facebook now..maybe in the summer holidays or something.. - Kerry Sutherland - 05-01-2013 06:21 AM Hi I have had facebook since i was in secondary school and i am now in university. In my personal experience, Facebook is an incredibly bad influence on you if you're taking exams or have to focus on homework/schoolwork. It's especially addictive and can even cause you to get paranoid!! I strongly recommend that you don't use it if you don't have to, and only spend around 15mins on it a day if you really really want to, otherwise what i do when my exams are coming up, is i deactivate it for a few days/weeks until my exams are over and then i just return to facebook when its over and everything is the same way it was the way to do this is settings/account/deactivate. You'll then have to enter your password and it will be deactivated for as long as u want it until you sign in again. I think that if your friends have access to your password and your account, then it could definitely be a problem. I don't recommend telling anyone your password as it could turn out very bad in your favour. Keep your info to yourself as anyone can get a hold of your personal details/pictures. Hope this helped! |
