Ok, so I have a blog on blogger, but I am really shy and don't want people I know to know it is me doing the blog. Mainly because I am super shy and afraid of negative posts.

If you are concerning the display name showing under the posts, it can be changed in 2 ways- from your Google profile, or, modify that blog template codes. i dont think you need any gadgets. first you could make a fake name. secondly if you go to layout and click the post section you can check or uncheck what you want to shw up below your posts. on option is author name other options are date, location, social media share buttons etc
