I wanted to change my name. But whenever I changed it, it always said
"We require Facebook users to use their real name"

simple, use your real name - those are the rules

Go to Account Settings. Beside your name, you see Edit. Type in your new name.

How do I change my name?
To edit the name listed on your account:
Review our name standards
https://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=112146705538576
Go to your Account Settings page
https://www.facebook.com/settings
Click on the Name section, type in your name, and save your changes
Note:
-To help make sure that everyone uses their real name, we limit the number of times you can change your name.
-If your name is changed by a Facebook representative, this change is considered final. This means you will no longer have the option to manually change your name.
-If you weren't able to change your name, we may be able to help.
