So im really getting sick of seeing people post crazy stuff on facebook just to get likes such as "like if u hate cancer, keep scrolling and u will die and burn in hell" and it shows a photo of some poor kid with cancer or something along the lines of "like if u love ur mom, ignore and she will die a slow painful death" and some crazy photo to go with it. When people get thousands and thousands of likes for this crap, do they actually get money?

People just like to be 'like'd, either in Facebook or in real life. Some people just want more to be liked so they spend effort to post/share interesting content.
It is something like why people put effort to dress beautifully, or ware makeup or do their hairs, purchase expensive cars etc.. so that their friends provide a good remarks/comments.
