The problem happened to me just yesterday. I was prompted to send a photo of my ID. I actually sent a photo of my ID. Just blurred my address and other personal information. I left my birth date visible. After I submitted it, I was sent to this page saying
"Thank You
Your information will be processed in the order it was received. A response will be sent to the email address you provided. Please note, if the information you provided is incorrect or incomplete, you will not be able to recover your account."
I have not received any email. I have contacted both facebook and instagram. Still got nothing.

the same thing happened to me right now, i'm trying to get some answers. i'm kinda freaked out cause it happened with my facebook too. I'm afraid its a virus cause they're asking for your birth date, photo id, passport or social. I'm like why the hell would I give my social or my ID. They can just cancel I don't need it that bad:/

i have the exact same problem.
I guess the only solution is make a new account.
