I responded to an ad on Kijiji. The poster replied and asked me if the number he included in his message is my cell number. Actually, the phone number is my house phone number!
How did my number show up? I did not give it to him as I prefer to communicate via email. I realize my email address shows up in order for the person to respond.

He probably looked it up in the phone book or if your privacy settings are a bit loose on Facebook then he probably searched FB using your email and then got your number off your profile (if you have it listed there).
