My girlfriend and I are pretty serious and both of her parents are on facebook and know that I am on Facebook. Should I add them as friends or wait for them to add me? or not worry at all?

Ad them first, that shows them that you have nothing to hide, and you are not keeping anything from them. which means no more swearing on FB
