How can I make my facebook profile unsearchable to the public? - Zander - 05-07-2013 03:39 AM

I want to change my settings so that my name doesn't appear in the search bar when any random person types my name in. I don't seem to have the "who can look up your timeline by name" option I've completely navigated my privacy settings and when I log into facebook using a different name and profile,I can still see my original in the search bar. How can I remedy this?

Privacy settings. Custom and from there you can choose who can see and who cant. Im hidden to the public and thats how i did it.

you have paranoia issues ( go see a doctor) if someone adds you then click "accept" or "not now" as long as you have your settings turned so people cant see your timeline its fine, no random person is going to see your profile and do anything with it :L

Log in to your Facebook account using your email address and password.

Click the "Account" link at the top right of the Facebook page. Click "Privacy Settings" from the menu.

Click on the "View Settings" link under the "Connecting on Facebook" heading.

Locate the section named "Search for you on Facebook." Click the drop-down box on the right and click the "Friends Only" option. This will make your profile unsearchable to anyone who's not already your friend.
