do you think the pay-per view ideas is stupid now in wrestling? - championjdg - 05-07-2013 08:15 AM

with social media, you can find out who won in the pay-per view. so why would the wrestling industry keep using them? you don't pay for superbowl, nba finals, world series, or stanley cup.

the last time I looked, Each Team in The NBA, The NFL, The NHL and Major League Baseball were being paid millions of dollars to braodcast their games. How many Professional Wrestling Promotions are being paid millions of dollars to broadcast their shows? As soon as you own a Television Network and you pay a Wrestling Promotion $100,000,000 a year every year, then we can cut back on Pay Per Views. If Pay Per Views are stupid, then Professional Wrestling Promotions can stop sending Satellite Trucks and Camera Crews and The Wrestling Promotions can turn them into House Shows and The Live Audience would be the only one to see them, since they would be the only source of revenue. How much money will they make off Socieal Media? $0, and since they are in business to make money, Wrestling Promotions can skip doing Pay Per Views and do more House Shows.

I think the number of PPVs is no longer practical. People are not going to spend $35-$45 per month to watch one extra wrestling show, which is really not that much better than the 4-8 shows that are broadcast on their basic cable network.
