Good laptop for me for school and Internet? - Fireflies - 05-07-2013 10:02 AM

I've been saving up the last year for a laptop and now have $325. I'm 13 and would like to look into laptops. I would use it for:

-Doing projects
-Writing papers
-Some gaming
-School research
-YA.. Lol
-Facebook
-Checking grades/online assignments

I'd like a 15-17in screen, fairly fast, 1.5ghz or higher with a CD player. That's it. I'm gonna save up some more. My price limit, is $400 or under. I may pay a little higher if worth it. I don't want a tablet, I have an iPad mini I got for Christmas. I love it but its not the best for school aside from some apps. I've been saving up since I was 12 and ill be 14 in march, I'm hoping to have it by a few days after my birthday or sooner, ha. I'm very grateful but I need Microsoft word and my dad works on our family computer most of the time, and my library is out of city. So..

In my opinion, the best brands are Samsung, Asus, and Lenovo. Acer sucks, dell is just okay, Sony is good but probably out of your price range. Good luck!

Look around Newegg.com. They have the best deals, much more so than buying a brand-name computer!

well almost everything you listed doesn't need much of a requirement but when you are talking about gaming STOP RIGHT THERE. LOL
depends on what you mean like facebook games or game like DOTA 2, Skyrim, in case you you want facebook and browser games, these doesn't take much either but the others game you'll need wayyy more than 325$
ok so here are my suggestions on what you might like:
ASUSN53SN-EH71 Notebook

that'll take 700$-1000$

now to hardcore gaming stuff (my favorite part Big Grin )
for this part i recommend Alienware laptops, as they are dedicated to gaming and gaming laptops/PCs are powerful enough to do anything else.

http://www.alienware.com Alienware webpage and all of their prices
starting at 999$
with your money you can get ANY laptop that runs good for work, projects, internet browsing but for these i recommend Dell or HP, as dells are really reliable and can last long.
