Facebook Question....? - Kristin - 05-07-2013 11:48 PM

If I block someone that used to get text message notifications of my status updates, will they still receive text messages or emails that I updated my status?

No they won't, they won't be able to contact you or see anything of yours.

Blocking someone limits them from viewing things you share on your timeline. Most ties you currently have with the people you block will be broken (ex: friendship connections). Blocking is reciprocal, so you won’t be able to do things like start a Facebook chat or message with the person, or see things they post on their timeline.

Keep in mind that blocking someone may not prevent all communications or interactions such as in apps or groups and only effects your experience on Facebook, not elsewhere on the web.

Note: Removing a block will not restore the friend connection. If you block a friend and then remove that person from your block list, you'll need to send them a new friend request.
