I go to my calender and i can switch off facebook birthdays but it always ends up just comming back on. I dont like getting notifications for birthday events, unless its for my contacts. Please help.

Go setting > Facebook > turn off Contact.
If you turn on this feature, all your facebook friends contact will be save to your contact including their birthday.. Hope this can help you.
