Because people on facebook are dumb enough to click on ads.

Companies look at websites that get certain amount of viewers per day. If the viewer amount fits in with the criteria that is desired by the company, they will then issue to put there ads on. This is how websites get there funding. The more ads, the more money for the site and the company. They don't care if you "do" click on ads. The mire exposure of the ad itself to the view is satisfaction enough.
